A. भारतीय संगीत का इतिहास और सिद्धांत
1. (a) लय और ताल सिलप्पादी करम, नाट्य, शास्त्र ताल दीपिकाई के विशेष संदर्भ में कर्नाटक संगीत का संक्षिप्त इतिहास।
(b) लघु जीवन- निम्नलिखित का रेखाचित्र और योगदान: पुरंदर दास, और त्रिमूर्ति त्यागराज दीक्षित और श्यामाशास्त्री।
(c) निम्नलिखित दिग्गजों नायना स्वामी पीपीए, मामुनिद्या पिल्लई, ददशीनामूर्ति पिल्लई और अलागुनाम्बी पिल्लई का अद्वितीय योगदान।
2. परिभाषा एवं स्पष्टीकरण : नाद, श्रुति, स्वर, लय, राग, ताल, जाति, सुलादि, सप्त, ताल करणी, वेट्टु थाट्टू, हेच्चु, तांगु मोहरा और कोरवई।
3. उम्मीदवार को आदि और रूपक्स ताल में पर्कशन कोरवैस को नोटेशन में लिखने में सक्षम होना चाहिए।
4. चुने गए तालवाद्य के निर्माण का ज्ञान।
5. घाटम के निर्माण और तकनीक का बुनियादी ज्ञान। उम्मीदवार को कंजीरा और तावली का वर्णन करने में सक्षम होना चाहिए।
6. अन्य ताल वाद्ययंत्रों के बारे में बुनियादी ज्ञान। इसकी निर्माण एवं तकनीक.
एक प्रैक्टिकल पेपर के अंक: 70
1. निम्नलिखित तालों को विस्तार से बजाने की क्षमता आदि और रूपकम ताल कम से कम दो नादियों को शक्ति प्रदान करते हैं।
2. तिमनम और कोरवैस के साथ अलग-अलग ताल में थेका और मोहरा।
3. उपकरण की ट्यूनिंग.
4. आदि, रूपक और चापू ताल में विभिन्न पैटर्न के सॉलुकट्टस को मौखिक रूप से प्रस्तुत करने की क्षमता:

One Theory Paper 3 Hours Marks: 30
A. History and theory of Indian Music
1. (a) Brief history of Karnatak music with special reference to laya and percussion silappadi karam, Natya, Sastra Tala Deepikai.
(b) Short life- sketch and contributions of the following:
Purandar Dasa, and the trinity Tyagaraja Dikshitar & Syamasastry.
(c) Unique contribution of the following luminaries Nayayana Swamy ppa, Mamunidya Pillai, Dadshinamurti Pillai & Alagunambi Pillai.
2. Defination and explanation :
Nada, Sruti, Svara, Laya, Raga, Tala, Jati, Suladi, Sapta, Talas
Karani, Vettu Thattu, Hechchu, Tangu Mohra and Korvai.
3. The candidate should be able to write in notation the percussion korvais in Adi & Rupaks Talas.
4. Knowledge of the construction of the chosen percussion instrument.
5. Basic knowledge of the construction and Technique of Ghatam. The candidate should be able to describe the kanjira and Tavali.
6. Basic knowledge about other percussion instruments. Its construction and technique.
One Practical Paper Marks: 70
1. Ability to play the following talas with elaboration Adi and Rupkam Talas powering at least two nadais.
2. Thekas and Moharas in different talas with Timanams and Korvais.
3. Tuning of the instrument.
4. Ability to render orally the sollukattus of the various patterns in Adi, Rupaka and Chapu Talas :
