A. भारतीय संगीत का इतिहास और सिद्धांत
1. (ए) सिलप्पादि करम नाट्य शास्त्र, संगीत रत्नाकर, सावरा मेला, कलानिधि और चतुर्दंडी प्रकाशिका के विशेष संदर्भ में कर्नाटक संगीत का संक्षिप्त इतिहास।
(बी) लघु जीवन- निम्नलिखित का रेखाचित्र और योगदान:
पुरंदर दास, श्यामसात्री, त्यागराज, मुथुस्वामी दीक्षितार और तानसेन।
(सी) कीर्तन और कीर्ति, वर्णम, गीतम और स्वरजति के संगीत रूपों का संक्षिप्त इतिहास और विकास।
2. निम्नलिखित की परिभाषा एवं व्याख्या:
नन्द, श्रुति, स्वर जाति, राग, ताल जाति, यति, सुलादि, सप्त ताल, नादई, आरोहण, अवरोहण।
3. उम्मीदवारों को निर्धारित रागों में रचनाओं को नोटेशन में लिखने में सक्षम होना चाहिए।
4. प्रयोग हेतु निर्धारित रागों का वर्णन |
5. निर्धारित ताल: सुलादि सप्त ताल उनके जागी और गति भेद के साथ

B. क्रियात्मक गतिविधियाँ
1. निर्धारित राग: मायामालव गौलम, मध्यमावती, अराभि, शंकरभरण, खरहरप्रिया, कल्याणी, हरिकामोबजी.
2. दो डिग्री गति में आदि ताल में वर्णम (कम से कम चार)|
3. प्रत्येक निर्धारित राग में पारंपरिक रूप से कम से कम एक प्रामाणिक रचना प्रस्तुत की जाती है, जिसमें व्यक्ति तलस आदि, रूपकम और चापू शामिल होते हैं।
4. निर्धारित रागों का संक्षिप्त अलापना।
5. आदि में कल्पना स्वर, और विलाम्बा और मध्यमा कला में रूपक ताल। स्वर और साहित्य भाग बजाने की तकनीकी बातें।
6. उम्मीदवार को वाद्य संगीत से संबंधित सभी गमकों का उत्पादन करने में सक्षम होना चाहिए।

One Theory Paper 3 Hours Marks: 30
A. History and theory of Indian Music
1. (a) Brief history of Karnatak music with special reference to silappadi karam natya sastra, sangita Ratnakara, Savra Mela, Kalanidhi and Chaturdandi Prakasika.
(b) Short life- sketch and contributions of the following:
Purandara Dasa, Syamasatry, Tyagaraja, Muthuswamy Dikshitar and Tansen.
(c) Brief history and evolution of the musical forms Kirtana and kirti, Varnams, Geetams & Svarajati.
2. Definition and explanation of the following:
Nands, Sruti, Svara. Jaati, Raga, Tala Jaati, Yati, suladi, Sapta Talas, Nadai, Arohana, Avarohana.
3. Candidates should be able to write in notation the compositions in the prescribed ragas.
4. Description of the ragas prescribed for Practical.
5. Talas Prescribed : Suladi Sapta talas with their Jaagi and Gati bhedas
One Practical Paper Marks: 70
B. Practical Activites
1. Ragas Prescribed : Mayamalava gowlam, Madhyarmavati,
Arabhi, Sankarabharan,Kharaharapriya,Kalyani, Harikamobji,
2. Varnams (atleast four) in Adi tala in two degree of speed.
3. At least one authentic compositions traditionally rendered in each of the prescribed ragas, covering the man Talas Adi, Rupakam and Chapu.
4. Brief alapana of the ragas prescribed.
5. Kalpana svaras in Adi, and Rupaka talas in Vilamba and Madhyama kalas. Technicalities of playing svara and sahitya portions.
6. The candidate should be able to produce all the gamakas pertaining to instrumental music.
7. Continuous assessment (Unit Test)
