पाठ्यक्रम (सिद्धांत)
भाग-ए
1. निम्नलिखित की परिभाषाएँ:- उठान, पेशकार, परन, तिहाई, दुप्पली, तिप्पली, रेला, नगमा।
2. ताल के निर्माण के सिद्धांत.
3. संगीत में लय और ताल का महत्व तथा संगीत में तबले का महत्व पर निबंध। .
4. तबला एवं पखावज वादन का तुलनात्मक अध्ययन।
5. ताल और उसके दस परन.
6. तबला घरानों का संक्षिप्त परिचय।
7. तबला सोलो वादन के सिद्धांत.
8. निम्नलिखित तबला वादक की जीवनी रेखाचित्र:
- पं. कंठे महाराज
- पं. शमता प्रसाद
- उस्ताद ज़ाकिर हुसैन
- उस्ताद लक्ष्मण सिंह
भाग-बी
1. इकगुन, डुगुन, तिगुन और चौगुन लयकारी के साथ निम्नलिखित तालों का परिचय और संकेतन: (i) रूपक ताल (ii) झप ताल (iii) एक ताल (iv) दीपचंदी (v) तीन ताल (vi) पंजाबी ठेका (छोटा) तीन ताल)।
2. निम्नलिखित तालों का विवरण एवं तुलना :
- तीन ताल – पंजाबी ठेका
- दीपचंदी-धमार ताल
- रूपक ताल- तिवरा ताल
3. तीन ताल, झप ताल, रूपक ताल में निम्नलिखित सामग्री का अंकन: पेशखर, कायदा, तिहाई, परन, रेला और टुकड़ा|
4. तीन ताल, दीपचंदी, पंजाबी ठेका, धमार, रूपक, तिवरा ताल की पहचान कुछ बोलों के माध्यम से।
5. निर्धारित तालों में नगमा का अंकन।
प्रश्न पत्र की संरचना (क्रियात्मक)
प्रायोगिक परीक्षा के एक बैच में 9 से अधिक विद्यार्थी नहीं होने चाहिए। संगीत (स्वर) में संगत के रूप में हारमोनियम की अनुमति है। परीक्षक मौके पर ही प्रश्नपत्र सेट करेंगे। प्रैक्टिकल में प्रश्न पत्र सेट करते समय परीक्षक को सिलेबस पर भी विचार करना चाहिए
सिद्धांत और निम्नलिखित निर्देशों का पालन करेंगे।
1. निर्धारित पाठ्यक्रम में से किसी एक राग का प्रदर्शन/प्रस्तुति। विद्यार्थी रागों का चयन कर सकते हैं। यह 4 मिनट के लिए होगा.
2. निर्धारित पाठ्यक्रम से एक राग का प्रदर्शन/प्रस्तुति। चयन परीक्षक का होगा. यह 4 मिनट के लिए होगा.
3. इकगुन और डुगुन लयाकरियों में निर्धारित तालों का हाथ से प्रदर्शन/प्रदर्शन। यह 4 मिनट के लिए होगा.
4. निर्धारित पाठ्यक्रम में से एक ताल एवं एक राग की पहचान। यह 4 मिनट के लिए होगा.
5. प्रदर्शन/प्रदर्शन, निर्धारित पाठ्यक्रम में किसी भी ताल में हारमोनियम पर नगमा बजाएं। यह 4 मिनट का होगा.
पाठ्यक्रम (क्रियात्मक)
1. निम्नलिखित तालों का सिस्टम एकल प्रदर्शन: एक ताल और तीन ताल, तेवरा ताल, रूपक ताल।
2. रूपक ताल में कुछ लागियाँ।
3. दीपचंदी, तीन ताल और छोटा तीन ताल, रूपक, झप ताल और एक ताल में इकगुन और दुगुन लयकारीज़ में थेकस बजाना।
4. ताल की पहचान.
5. तबले की ट्यूनिंग.
6. अपने पाठ्यक्रम के किसी भी ताल में हारमोनियम पर नगमा बजाने की क्षमता।
7. पधांत को एकगुन और डुगुन लयकारी में ताल की ताली और खली दिखाने की क्षमता।

PART-A
1. Defination of the following :- Uthan, Peshkar, Paran, Tihai, Duppali, Tippali, Rela, Nagma.
2. Principles of formation of Taal.
3. Essay on importance of Laya and Taal in music and importance of Tabla in music. .
4. Comparative study of Tabla and Pakhawaj Vadan.
5. Taal and its ten Parans.
6. Brief introduction of Gharanas of Tabla.
7. Priciples of Tabla solo Vadan.
8. Biographical sketches of the following Tabla maestro :
a. Pt. Kanthe Maharaj
b. Pt. Shamta Prasad
c. Ustad Zakir Hussian
d. Ustad Laxaman Singh.
PART-B
1. Introduction and notation of the following Taals with Ikgun, Dugun, Tigun and Chaugun Layakaries :(i) Rupak Taal (ii) Jhap Taal (iii) Ek Taal (iv) Deepchandi (v) Teen Taal (vi) Punjabi Theka ( Chhota Teen Taal).
2. Description and comparison of the following Taals :
a. Teen Taal- Punjabi Theka
b. Deepchandi- Dhamar Taal
c. Rupak Taal- Tivra Taal
3. Notation of the following material in Teen Taal, Jhap Taal, Rupak Taal: Peskhar, Kayada, Tehai, Paran, Rela and Tukra.
4. Recognition of Teen Taal, Deepchandi, Punjabi Theka, Dhamar, Rupak, Tivra Taals through some Bols.
5. Notation of Nagama in prescribed Taals.
Structure Of Question Paper (Practical)
There should not be more than 9 students in a batch of practical examination. Harmonium is allowed as accompaniment in music (Vocal). The examiner will set the question paper on the spot. While setting the question paper in practical, the examiner must consider the syllabus in theory and will follow the following instructions.
1. Demonstration/performance of any one Raag out of the prescribed syllabus. The students can exercise the choice of Raags. It will be for 4 minutes .
2. Demonstration/performance of one Raag from prescribed syllabus. The choice will be of examiner. It will be for 4 minutes .
3. Demonstration/performance of prescribed Taals in Ikgun and Dugun Layakaries by hand. It will be for 4 minutes .
4. Recognition of one Taal and one Raag out of the prescribed syllabus. It will be for 4 minutes .
5. Demonstration/performance Play Nagma on Harmonium in any taal in precibed syllabus. It will be 4 minutes .
Syllabus (Practical)
1. System solo performance of the following Taals: Ek Taal and Teen Taal, Teewra Taal, Rupak Taal.
2. Few Laggis in Rupak Taal.
3. To play Thekas in Ikgun and Dugun Layakaries in Deepchandi, Teen Taal and Chhota Teen Taal, Rupak, Jhap Taal and Ek Taal.
4. Recognition of Taals.
5. Tuning of Tabla.
6. Ability to play Nagama on Harmonium in any Taal of your syllabus.
7. Ability to Padhant showing Tali and Khali of Taals in Ekgun and Dugun Layakaries.
