भाग A: सिद्धांत
1- (a) निम्नलिखित की परिभाषा:
ग्राम, मूर्छना, वर्ण, अलंकार, गामाका, कृतान, ज़मज़मा
(b) रागों का वर्गीकरण, रागों का समय सिद्धांत, घराना
2- (a) संगीत रत्नाकर के विशेष संदर्भ में प्राचीन हिंदुस्तानी संगीत का संक्षिप्त इतिहास।
(b) संगीत पारिजात और पं. वी .एन. भातखंडे के कार्यों के विशेष संदर्भ में हिंदुस्तानी संगीत के मध्यकालीन और आधुनिक काल का संक्षिप्त इतिहास।
(सी) बारहवीं कक्षा के प्रैक्टिकल के लिए निर्धारित रागों का विवरण।
3- बजाने की बुनियादी तकनीकों के साथ-साथ चुने गए वाद्ययंत्रों के निर्माण का विवरण।
4- स्वरों के दिए गए अंशों से रागों को पहचानना।
5- रचनाओं (गत) एवं तालों का अंकन लिखना।
6- संगीतकारों की जीवनियाँ :
तानसेन, उस्ताद इनायत खान, उस्ताद मुश्ताक अली खान, उस्ताद अलाउद्दीन खान, पं. पन्नालाल घोष.
भाग B: एक प्रैक्टिकल पेपर के अंक 70
1- (a) भैरव, बिहाग, केदार और भीमपलासी में एक रज़ाखानी गत
स्थाई और अंतरा के साथ विस्तार (तोड़ा और झाला)।
(b) विस्तार के साथ एक निर्धारित राग में दो मसीतखानी रचनाएँ (गत्स)।
(c) ठुमरी शैली या धुन में खमाज में एक रचना।
(d) न्यूनतम दो स्वरों के किसी भी निर्धारित राग में मींड उत्पन्न करने की क्षमता।
(e) एक रचना एकताल में और एक झपताल में।
2- निर्धारित रागों में अलाप और तोड़ा के साथ आरोह, अवरोह, पकड़, सरल स्वर-विस्तार बजाने की क्षमता।
3- झपताल, रूपक, तिलवारा, धमार का ठेका डुगुन के साथ, हाथ की थाप से ताल रखकर सुनाने की क्षमता।
4- परीक्षक द्वारा गाए या बजाए गए स्वरों के अंशों से निर्धारित रागों को पहचानने की क्षमता।
5-स्वरों को पहचानना
6- सतत मूल्यांकन (यूनिट टेस्ट)

Part A : Theory
1- (a) Definition of the following :
Gram, Murchana, Varna, Alankar, Gamaka, Kritan, Zamzama
(b) Classification of Ragas, Time theory of Ragas, Gharana
2- (a) Brief history of ancient Hindustani Music with special reference to Sangeet Ratnakar.
(b) Brief history of medival and modern period of Hindustani Music with special reference to Sangeet Parijata and works of Pt. V. N. Bhatkhande. .
(c) Description of the Ragas Prescribed for Class XII Practical.
3- Description of construction of instruments opted for along with the basic techniques of playing.
4- To Recognise the Ragas from given passages of Svaras.
5- Writing Notation of compositions (Gat) and Talas.
6- Biographies of musicians :
Tansen, UstadInayat Khan, Ustad Mushtaq Ali Khan, Ustad Alauddin Khan, Pt. Pannalal Ghosh.
Part B : One Practical Paper Marks 70
1- (a) One Razakhani gat in Bhairav, Bihag, Kedar and Bhimpalasi with
elaborations (Toda and Jhala) with Sthaya and Antara.
(b) Two MasitKhani compositions (Gats) in a Prescribed Raga with elaborations.
(c) One composition in Khamaj in Thumri style or Dhun.
(d) Ability to produce Meend in any prescribed Raga of minimum two svaras.
(e) One composition in Ektal and one in Jhaptal.
2- Ability to play Aroha, Avaroha, Pakad, Simple Svara – Vistars with Alap and Toda in the prescribed Ragas.
3- Ability to recite thekas of Jhaptal, Rupak, Tilwara,Dhamar with Dugun, keeping tala with hand beats.
4- Ability to recognize the prescribed Ragas from passages of Svaras sung or played by the examiner.
5- To recognize the Swaras
6- Continuous Assessment (Unit Test)
