पाठ्यक्रम (सिद्धांत)
भाग-ए
(i) निम्नलिखित की परिभाषा:-
संगीत, नाद, मात्रा, विभाग, ताल, लय, ठेका, आवर्तन, साम, ताल, खाली, कयदा, लंबी, मुखरा, मोहरा।
(ii) (ए) तबला का संक्षिप्त इतिहास।
(बी) तबला वादक के गुण और दोष।
(सी) तबले का विवरण।
(डी) तबले के दस वर्ण।
(ई) गायक और वादक के साथ संगत तबला के सिद्धांत।
(iii) जीवनी रेखाचित्र।
(ए) उस्ताद अहमद जान थिरकवा।
(बी) पं. अनोखे लाल
(सी) पं. कृष्ण महाराज
(डी) उस्ताद अल्ला रक्खा।
भाग-बी
(i) तीन ताल, तिलवारा, झप ताल, सुल ताल का वर्णन एवं तुलना।
(ii) दिए गए बोलों से निर्धारित ताल की पहचान।
(iii) केहरवा और दादरा में दो लैगी।
(iv) डुगुन और चौगुन लयकारी के साथ निर्धारित तालों का अंकन।
(v) तीनताल, झप ताल, रूपक ताल में निम्नलिखित पदों का संकेतन: एक कयड़ा, दो
पलटास, एक रेला, एक टुकरा और एक तिहाई।

प्रश्न पत्र की संरचना
प्रायोगिक परीक्षा के एक बैच में 9 (नौ) से अधिक विद्यार्थी नहीं होने चाहिए। प्रश्न पत्र परीक्षक द्वारा मौके पर ही सेट किया जाएगा। प्रैक्टिकल में प्रश्न पत्र सेट करते समय परीक्षक को सैद्धांतिक रूप से पाठ्यक्रम पर विचार करना होगा और निम्नलिखित निर्देशों का पालन करना होगा।
1. निर्धारित पाठ्यक्रम में से किसी एक ताल का एकल वादन का प्रदर्शन/प्रस्तुति।
ताल का चयन विद्यार्थी द्वारा किया जायेगा। यह 6 मिनट के लिए होगा.
2. निर्धारित पाठ्यक्रम में से किसी एक ताल का एकल वादन का प्रदर्शन/प्रस्तुति।
ताल का चयन परीक्षक द्वारा किया जायेगा। यह 4 मिनट के लिए होगा.
3. एकगुन और डुगुन लयाकरियों में ‘ताल’ का हाथ से प्रदर्शन। यह 4 मिनट के लिए होगा.
4. पाठ्यक्रम से बाहर किसी भी ताल में एक लैगी बजाने की क्षमता। यह 2 मिनट के लिए होगा.
5. लहरा के साथ तबला बजाने की क्षमता। यह 4 मिनट के लिए होगा.
क्रियात्मक
(i) पेशकार, कायदा, पलटा, तिहाई, टुकड़ा, रेला और पाकर के साथ निम्नलिखित तालों का व्यवस्थित एकल प्रदर्शन: तीन ताल, झप ताल, रूपक ताल।
(ii) दादरा और केहरवा ताल में दो लैगी।
(iii) एक ताल, तिलवाड़ा, सुल ताल का सरल ठेका बजाना।
(iv) लहरा के साथ तबला बजाने की क्षमता।
(v) परीक्षक द्वारा ताल के विभिन्न बोल उत्पन्न करने की क्षमता।
(vi) एकगुन, दुगुन और चौगुन के पधांत, निर्धारित ताल और तबले पर गायक।

PART-A
(i) Definition of the following:-
Sangeet, Naad, Matra, Vibhag, Taal, Laya, Theka, Avartan, Sam, Taali, Khaali, Kayada, Laggi, Mukhra, Mohra.
(ii) (a) Short History of Tabla.
(b) Merits and demerits of Tabla Player.
(c) Description of Tabla.
(d) Ten Varnas of Tabla.
(e) Principles of Tabla accompaninent with vocalist and instrumentalist.
(iii) Biographical sketches.
(a) Ustad Ahmad Jaan Thirkva.
(b) Pt. Anokhe Lal
(c) Pt. Krishan Maharaj
(d) Ustad Alla Rakha.
PART-B
(i) Description and comparison of Teen Taal, Tilwara, Jhap Taal, Sul Taal.
(ii) Recognition of prescribed Taals from the given Bols.
(iii) Two laggies in Kehrva and Dadra.
(iv) Notation of prescribed Taals along with Dugun and Chougun Laykaries.
(v) Notation of the following terms in Teentaal, Jhap Taal, Rupak Taal: One Kayada, two
Paltas, one Rela, one Tukra and one Tihai.

PRACTICAL MUSIC (TABLA)
Structure Of Question Paper
There should not be more than 9 (nine) students in a batch of practical examination. The question paper will set by the examiner on the spot. While setting the question paper in practical, the examiner must consider the syllabus in theory and will follow the following instructions.
1. Demonstration/performance of Solo Vadan of any one Taal out of the prescribed syllabus.
The choice of the Taal will be done by the student. It will be for 6 minutes.
2. Demonstration/performance of Solo Vadan of any one Taal out of the prescribed syllabus.
The choice of the Taal will be done by the examiner. It will be for 4 minutes.
3. Demonstration of ‘Taals’ in Ekgun and Dugun layakaries by hand. It will be for 4 minutes.
4. Ability to play one laggi in any Taal out of the syllabus. It will be for 2 minutes.
5. Ability to play Tabla with Lehra. It wil be for 4 Minutes.
PRACTICAL
(i) Systematic solo performance of the following Taals with Peshkar, Kayada, Palta, Tihai, Tukra, Rela and Pakar: Teen Taal, Jhap Taal, Rupak Taal.
(ii) Two laggies in Dadra and Kehrva Taal.
(iii) To play simple Theka of the Ek Taal, Tilwara, Sul Taal.
(iv) Ability to play Tabla with Lehra.
(v) Ability to produce different bols of Taal by the examiner.
(vi) Padhant of Ikgun, Dugun and Chougun Laykaries of prescribed Taals and on Tabla.
